------------------------------------------------------------------------ NORTHERN CALIFORNIA ------ RECAP: NW swell was on the way down on Thursday but still provided fun waist-shoulder-head high surf at the better exposed breaks. Standout spots, mainly around the Bay Area, were a couple of feet+ overhead in the morning. OUTLOOK: The current swell will back down further on Friday as a new NW swell slowly builds. Larger NW swell is due over the weekend and into early next week. -- Kevin

OUTLOOK: Average areas will see small surf continue over the next couple of days as a steep NW ground swell slides down the coast, bypassing most areas. Best breaks see fun size waves. It looks like there is some better potential for surf next week. -- Kevin
